The theme of my fashion collection is 'Aurora' and is based on the borealis which is all about colour light and space.

My fascination for space exploration UFOS and all things paranormal I tend to express these ideas in my work, as these are my keen areas of interest.  One angle which has greatly inspired my work is 60S futurism which can be seen through the work of designers such as Paco Rabbane, and Emilo Pucci and the influence of space travel on design asthetics for example the obsession with pedestal bases on everthing from chairs to ash trays and televisions, which was all about man's obsession with weightlessness.

The fabric I have used is one I developed myself and some of the materials used were supplied by Willam Clark & Sons LTD of Mahera.

The pleated linen fabric which I have used in the top was kindly sponsored by John England.

More images of the collection will be available soon. The rest of the collection features digital printing and an Aurora jacket which glows in the dark.

The new fabric I have created is extremely versatile and is easy to weld and stitch, which means it has a varied range of application in costumes where light reflective qualitites are required but also for crafts. The lightness or darkness of the fabric it is lined with also greatly affects the sheen and allows some colours to dominate while others are muted.
